So I'm looking at the last few days of our upcoming trip and I think we will be coming from Great Zimbabwe through Bulawayo and the Plumtree border crossing, then down towards Gabarone and crossing into SA at Mafikeng.
We'd then have four maybe five days to get to Cape Town. I'd like to get in some good gravel roads before I put the bike back on the boat to Scotland where there are no gravel roads at all.
All suggestions welcome including recommended overnight stops. Mrs 3D finds about 3-350km a day comfortable, less if it's cold, which in mid June I suppose it could be.
(I had also thought of coming back in at Martin's Drift and heading south to have another tilt at the Sani Pass and maybe visit where I lived as a kid near Amanzimtoti, heading south along the coast from there but it'll add some time to the journey, and I can't make up my mind about the Transkei...)
Six weeks to go :ricky:
