So its been months, and I was waiting to hear the final outcome of the warranty claim work I had done on the SE/R. Well bingo, the brilliant news is in..... and I believe its very important giving praise when its due, and in this case............. ITS DUE.
Story:
My SE had gone out of warranty by several months - and the petrol pump crapped out. It seriously looked like an abused marine unit so bad was the rust inside the unit. This caused an abort of a trip right in the top of Lesotho, and forced a courier ride home for the bike, and a rental car ride home for the riders.
KTM Cape Town came to my rescue, did some haggling with head office, and when turned down - decided to warranty the pump anyhow. Thats a steep price to pay on their behalf - just over R2.3K
Next thing, I complain to Kevin the head mechanic that my water - and oil - is dissappearing at a rate that is greater than the tolerance set out by KTM Austria. After some organising to put the bike on the lifts and get it checked, it turned out that they believed that the valves had to be lapped, the rings replaced, the cylinders honed afresh, a myriad of technical important stuff.
I had a guest coming in from America (on ADVRider - GSGirl) and we had planned to do some riding around our magnificent Cape. What did the dealership do? They offered me a choice of not one, not two, but THREE motorcycles to choose from for the duration of the fix on my bike. When the heck have you heard of this? They pushed the bike through the rebuild, and I got it back quick sticks.
Once again, the warranty work was sent up to KTM SA - who decided that as the motorcycle was out of warranty, were going to cover 50% of the parts. Who decided to step in and honour the claim as if it was still under warranty?
KTM Cape Town.
Guys - I'd like to thank you publicly for your fine service to me and for restoring my faith in the Cape Town branch of the Dark Side. Never before have we seen service levels like this on the Orange side, and its evident to me that the care and consideration for customers has absolutely skyrocketed.
Mucho Obrigado
