Me and Mrs Slide did a spur of the moment trip to Memel this weekend.
Left Saturday at about 11h30. Took the tar road via Delmas, Leandra, Standerton and Vrede. Arrived Just in time to see Nkosi being sung.
We watched the game in the pub at Cliffdale Hotel where we stayed. What a nice atmosphere - one of the other guests was supplying droewors and biltong to everyone else in the bar and that set the scene for a memorable night of drinks and laughter. Here's the pics:

At least the Red Heart was flowing smoothly.

Down Normandien Pass.
We left at 13h00 and after a quick lunch at the Wimpy in Standerton we were back home at 16h30.
What a worthwhile trip. We are definitely going again. Who's keen?
