I have had the standard Metzeler Tourance on my BMW 1200 GS and got 18 000 km from it. Still a bit of tread left. I have done Die Hel, Baviaans (2 up) and Lesotho, Northern Cape and Southern Namibie all off road and various off road day trips into Zululand. Came off twice and both times in the mud. So I really liked my Tourance.
I see there is a new Tourance EXP, but from reading on the WEB it seems like a 90-95% road tire and performs well on tar.
Has anybody used this tire on medium to heavy off road trips?
