More questions on a GPS

I took my GPS with on Saturday to track the route we rode. I then downloaded it onto my PC. It comes out as a track, but the strange thing is that on certain sections the track does not follow the road. In some places the track shows I rode about 20m off the road. This is strange as I have been over that particular piece of road previously and the GPS tracked me perfectly on the road. And no I did not have too much to drink!!!

Any suggestion?
