my man canet top of the pops ... acosta doing good ...hmmm could be good year racing e in moto2

In a way I agree , in a way not . Yes sure it will entice more privateers , but that will just mean more special limited edition specials at horrendous pricing . And would teams be allowed to modify standard models to the same level as tbe specials .
Perhaps just leave it as it is now .

They are already running homologation specials, or special limited editions if you prefer. One of them will set you back close to R1m in SA. It is what he wants stopped and I agree with that.

Price cap is one way I suppose. The R480k R1M is not the homologation special they are racing in WSBK. I doubt you will be able to get one in SA for under R800k, even more.

Sticking to dead standard road going bikes sounds ideal. But, the "creep" in regulations, and their interpretations, normally kill the concept. Look at what happened to group N racing in SA where you were only allowed to change tyres, and remove the exhaust from showroom floor cars
