Mozambique Militant Dangers

So I'm planning a trip to Mozambique for over new years (I know its quite late to do this) All the places to camp down south are fully booked and were months ago. So instead I want to go up a little north and stay at a place I've long been wanting to, Ponte Zavora. My only worry is that I've heard of militant groups posing a danger to tourists and want to know if there is anything much to worry about. Any news would be great.
