Namibia 2up on a KLR - Advice?

We are in the process of finalizing a route through Namibia and southern Angola. I will be riding my KLR with my wife as pillion as well as carrying luggage (soft panniers).

I would appreciate any advice anyone could give as to:

• What spares I should carry?
• Any specific modifications to the KLR that would be recommended
• Any areas we should avoid/visit. Campsites and cheap B&Bs

I don't want any surprises along the way
