Firstly, to all the Woman out there who allowed their men out for the ride, Big THANK YOU
To the Woman, who rode with us a even bigger THANK YOU

My morning started early and cold. You know that 5 o'clock alarm that goes off, when you actually set the clock for 6 o'clock. Wait....I never set the clock, which was the instruction I gave to my Woman.

At 7 o'clock, i met up with sillystunt at the Edenvale / R21 off-ramp and we took off to Pretoria along the R21.
I remember sillystunt also bitching about the cold.
S25 52.005 E28 15.509: Arrive 07:30 EngenQuickshopR21...wondering where were all the Woman. It was Womans Day after all. It started to look like a convention for KTM'ers, who ended uo dominating the day.

And then it happened....yes...a Woman on a KTM arrived. looks like the Womens Day Ride: August 09, 2007 was going to be a great day after all. And then we waited for the other woman. MX Riders rushed in, pulled bikes off trailers, filled up and kitted up...right down to chest-plates. did they know something about the ride that i did not. Ryperd really meant to take a full touring group out for the day.

The enduro's got the thumbs up and pulled away, crossing the short tar strip (NellmapiusDrive) onto the gravel : S25 52.043 E28 15.561.

First stop: S25 55.949 E28 15.847 at Bronkhorstspruit Outlaying, where the MX riders joined us. A full mix of bikes and riders, Proâ??s, Newbies, New bikes, old bikes and damaged bikes.

S25 59.934 E28 16.504: get up close to the railway line and ride along side the tracks.
S26 01.389 E28 18.730: [Elandsfontein AH], cross under the track and continue along side it. Mostly open veld, which was dry and dusty.

S26 01.557 E28 24.565: Cross under PretoriaRoad(R51). Did I mention the dust.
S26 03.321 E28 27.927: left the tracks and hit tar road. MX bikers went off to find fuel, as they were mostly empty.

Got chatting with some of the riders. If memory serves me right here were some of the riders, who I recall. [Ryperd, Grootseun, GO GIRL, sillystunt, Attie, logie, Ratel, Oetie, VooDooâ?¦.to name a few.

Our lady rider came along with full mud pack on face. Believe me, dear lady, your choice of make-up for the ride, was not what most woman would wear on a Women Day Ride. The brown dust did wonders for the excitement reflected in your eyes.

S25 59.345 E28 32.041: Picked up on the railway track with a section of technical going down and under the railway bridge. Noobs went straight over the bridge to meet up further along the track.

S25 58.962 E28 31.961: My vote for the best scenery of the day. Looking down from atop the railway bridge down into the valley with the Osspruit River below. I need to go back there and take some photos.

S25 54.591 E28 31.503: Still alongside the railway tracks, crossing R25 Pretoria Road. Have I mentioned all the dust?

S25 51.406 E28 31.354: Just pasted the R515 start of the tar road, but went off left still following the railway track. Just in case, I forgetâ?¦did I mention the dust?

S25 47.283 E28 27.226: A bit of a technical ride under and through a railway culvert tunnel up to S25 47.654 E28 27.465, the tar road [Mooiplaas SH]. Finish of railway tracks.

S25 46.882 E28 26.105: [CullinanOutlying] to S25 46.654 E28 24.537: [BronkhorstspruitOutlying]. Crossing N4 : S25 46.096 E28 24.244 : Pienaars River into Riverside Mixer Flat Tracks. If my memory serves me right, there was a lot of dust, now made worse by the Quads, buzzing around us.

S25 45.331 E28 22.756: River Side Mixer, the MX / Quad PlayGrounds. Cold ones and hot meals awaited those of us who had a lot of dust down our throats.

To our Woman Rider, you spent an awful long time in the bathroom to remove your dusty face make-up, didâ??nt you. Please be honest and tell us boys, what it felt likeâ?¦you know, give us the before and after story. What was your reaction when you saw yourself in the mirror at Riverside Mixer.
[The face says it all]

Madam, you have balls bigger than most men. Now that is a compliment from us boys. You handled your bike like a pro, we never heard you moan and bitch, not once, you were always smiling and stayed happy through-out the ride. You were friendly and lady-like and did not even cry, when your KTM misbehaved on you.
From usâ?¦ Wilddog boysâ?¦.we will ride with you any-time any-where.

Ryperd, Thank You for a great out-ride. It was well planned, your tour guided reports at the stops were informative and your hospitality of ensuring everyone is happy and content throughout the ride was extremely satisfying.

Looks very nice. I would loved to have joined but had prior commitments.

Nice guys, its looking pretty parched up there, dont you want some of our rain, we had nuff now  :-\

Well guys I have to admit that when I saw only the BIG BOYS at the Engen when we got together I felt very intimidated and well er... sort of lost... what should women be doing on Nat W Day???  Certainly not riding around and doing the "natural Mud Pack' thing, but hey it was good fun, to me damn hard work to keep up with you all .. and I did stuff that I have not done before!!! A big thks to CHris and Jaco who helped me when my 'Beast' misbehaved and for extra coaching from Chris learnt a lot and I will do that kinda stuff again any day KINDA REAL COOL  8) 8) 8) nice meeting you all and thanks to Herman for arranging it alll :)

Looks like a great ride. Lots of big bikes and smaller bikes riding together these days.

After crossing the Delmas road. A dirt road that ultimately leads to Bronkies. In the distance you can see the group waiting to take the railway line which goes eventually goes past NOOB hill and the quarry

The ever popular bridge that spans a small gorge. Most of us opted to take the long way round, ie: down the one side, under the bridge, and up the other side  :)

All told, I did about 110km, the rest of the group - about 130 - 140km to the Riverside Mixer.

It was an excellent morning out and a good start to the long weekend

Till we ride again  :)
