Hi All
Just want to say thanks for a great forum. Been amazing to read about all the trips and adventures. I am looking to buy my first DS bike. I come from the sportbike scene but after a lot of thinking I am making the switch. So much more of SA i want to see and I enjoy the long way around. Budget allows me either a new DR650 or a new KLR.
I plan to use the bike as my commuter, to tour SA via gravel road as much as possible and to take the lady on the back around town and to Jeffs etc when we get the time. (I am from PE)
I know the DR will need a bigger tank and a comfy seat and maybe some suspension upgrades (aside from the usual barkbusters, exhaust, bags etc that I would do to either bike) KLR from what i hear will def need some suspension work. I also hear about the new klrs using oil. Is this still true? Its been a hell of a decision for me and im driving the lady insane. What are your thoughts???
The more the merrier
