Hi all,
Wanted to introduce myself - I'm an American flying in to Cape Town in April and planning to buy a bike and ride north to Europe over 5 months, ending up somewhere in Europe (or however far I make it
. I'm not new to motorcycles, though I'm brushing up on a lot off-road skills prior to departure (taking an '83 Yamaha Maxim 400 in a muddy field after too many beers doesn't count as off-road experience, apparently).
If anyone's got any advice on buying a bike vs. shipping (BMW F650), I'd love to hear it - not sure if it makes sense to buy one in ZA at a markup or ship one over.
