got myself a 2005 1200GS. I am reasonable when it comes to maintenance, and have found this bike realatively easy to work on. done a rear disc and pads change, did a final drive oil change, g/b ox and engine oil change.
anyway long story square- have a kak idle, it seems like the cyclinders "fight each other" and I do get a "wrrrrr" out of the exhaust. I have had the bike die on me twice when riding to work this week, but it starts up fine again.
I did a valve clearence adjust using 4 feeler gauges- the valves were very tight, I took the plugs out and cleaned them up, i took off everysingle connector I could find and cleaned them up , I checked the tank breather, and cleaned up the connectors on the fuel controller ? on the left of the bike ( covers removed of course).
I narrowed the bad idle down to the Idle control solenoids and after reading on the www figured would need to do a sync but need a GS-911??? do any of you blokes in the kempton park area have one and would be willing to help me a bit - ( i will pay if required.)
