Hey guys. Just serviced my bike - oil change etc. Wanted to know from the guys who do it themselves tho. The oil filter....
In the manual it has a metal outer shell. mine - only a metal inner shell - ie - if you look in the hole of the filter - there is a perforated metal cylinder, but from the outside, only the paper fins of the filter. I'm assuming the oil flows from inside to outside, but i wanted to know if your filters are the same?
Also matter of interrest - before i got the bike, a helicoil was put into the oil reservoir drain plug hole. The filter that sits in the outlet from the reservoir , when i removed it, was FULL of filings and bits of casing - i assume from the insertion of the helicoil.
Just a reminder of why i service bikes myself....
And on the oil filter note - do you all use KTM ones? anyone run aftermarket ones or those cleanable ones? Just interrested :thumleft:
