Pants and jacket sizing

Please can someone help this idiot with a sizing guide for biking gear as in the title?

I often see jacket size 56 or pants size 58, but what does that convert to in normal sizes like 34 jeans or size L jacket etc?

I can't seem to find a proper converter online.
