Paulsky
Race Dog
Chuck and myself went for a ride on Friday to visit out tjommie Petrus Paulus Hendrik Johannes Jacobus Snyman on his farm.
We decided to go to Alicedale via tar because we weren't sure of how long the ride would tak as we were going via Tarka ish (not quite Tarka) here is the route we took up
Had a great ride on a lot of new roads where you can really spank it
I found a pair of Warthogs on one of the roads and chased it with the bike for a couple of hundred meters, they top out at 38 Kays an hour, and thats GPS speed
We stopped at this road sign, there were none, only a few locals with no front teeth and curlers
We stopped in Adelaide for fuel and also went to Midgleys Hotel for lunch, snake egg and chips, actually was very nice
The road from Adelaide to the spring valley left turn and then down to the farm (Bedford) is awesome, bits of Drakensberg, lady Grey, and amazing views.
As I said, I didn't a lot of pics. We arrived at the farm at about 4:30 and settled down with Peet (cutman) the farmer for a few beers, steak and roosterbrood
The farmhouse
The next morning Chuck took delivery of his new bike and we were up the mountain to do some farm stuff
We went the flat rock, made a fire and braaied wors and roosterbrood for breakies, took a couple of autistic pics of the bikes
After breakfast we did a little farming. One of the drinking troughs was empty, Peet tracked the problem down to a frog trapped in the pipe, after this was cleared Chuck and I tried to herd the cattle but ended up dividing the herd in two
We also saw a brand new little buck, probably only a day or 2 old, I think its an impala but I'm not sure
Here are a couple of panoramas with my new panorama software
On Saturday we watched a kak game of rugby and left the farm for the return trip home
very cool ride, about 600 km in total
PS: We stopped at Nanaga on the way home and I saw this, now that is hard luggage. How much shit do you need to take on a bike trip FFS?
