I found this wonderful sprocket calculator to anticipate the effect of a sprocket tooth change, front or back.

For instance, upping the front sprocket on a dirt bike from 13t to 14t results in a 7.7% speed increase. From 80km/h to 86km/h at the same rpm, or from 13km/h at idle speed to 14km/h in first gear. Torque reduces with the same percentage though.
