I had a very slow fall on mud today, climbed off, laughed a little, picked up the bike and then saw a massive green waterfall of fuel coming out the tank. :eek7: shit.
The touratech tank cracked on the inside where the radiator guard brace fits into the tank. The tank fits on the bike with two bolts under the seat and two round rubber parts on the radiator guard. One of these rubber parts seems to have created a tear in the plastic right in the hole where they fit in. It doesn't look like an impact punched hole but rather a tear.
I removed the tank, drained the fuel that was left to the stock tank and used cable ties to close both the fuel lines. I put the tank back and rode home like that.
I have never heard of this happening and I can't find anything on the internet about something like this.
What now? Plastic weld? I have already booked my flight to germany to go and bliksem every touratech doner I see.
Any ideas would help.
