So a few pals of mine, the wife and I are planning a trippie to the FishRiver canyon and had the following in mind (given distances and the need to not kill our behinds). Pretoria to Kuruman (1 night) – to Augrabies (two nights) – via Upington to Grunau (1 night) and then onto the dirt (hobas camping for two nights) onto Ai-Ais (two nights) back via Upington (1 night), Kuruman (1 night) and Pretoria. Any suggestions as to accommodation – road conditions to be aware of etc? Currently I have Augrabies and Hobas and Ai-Ais covered. Total distance probably around 3000km. Back-up 4x4 with a trailer and a mixture of bikes ranging from ADV, 800 and Transalps.
