Never had such qualms about selling bikes before, but it's not easy letting go of a friend like this one, it's different from all the others. But declining physical strength has demanded that I get something lighter and nimbler for road work only, which I have, and the pig has to go. 
My problem now is the crack across the headlight high beam unit. I've been living with it for at least 8 years and it's never bothered me, but it's not exactly a selling point. I've found out with a mix of horror and hilarity the stealers price for a new one, and I've found as far as I can ascertain that there's no generic around. Rather than pay BMW's price I swear that I'll just keep the damn thing until it falls on me and crushes me to death, so to preserve my life a little longer I'm asking if one of the dawgs out there hasn't got one to help me out.
