So I started playing around with some pry bars. Each one I made so far already got zapped by a friend or sold. They are very simple and one doesn't need one, but when you do need one you wished you had one
I made the first two in carbon steel and put one in a vibratory tumbler, and the other shaken by hand in a bottle.
Vibratory tumbler:
Shaken bottle:
Then I made 4x more this week in N690 stainless steel, 3x stone washed in a rotary tumbler, but I need to get better stones. The stones are too soft and they slide inside the canister.
Now, I am working on doing a batch in grade 5 titanium, but I want to try and so a small production run. I had 26 laser cut and going to have some finished off on CNC. If it is too expensive then I'll grind it myself, but the CNC can make it more consistent etc. I also want to play around with the surface finish and possibly some anodizing on a few.
I was so surprised how light it is, almost feels like a piece of charcoal in the hand:
I am looking forward to feedback from my mates who use these so far to see how I can improve or make it more functional. The idea isn't to cram as many functions into it as some pry bars try to do, otherwise, it becomes too busy. But if i can add something in the next batch when this is done to add 1x more function to it, then I will be happy.
