Quarry riding - awesome playpen - be careful of crime and oncoming traffic

There's been some much needed rain. And there's more to come. That means the riding will be even better on Sunday. I'd like to do a little archaeology and then some exploration for new tracklets in the old old motocross area. The woodcutters have been opening up some new areas and some more possibilities like the Odla exist.

Another big ride today! 19 riders left Rivergate Park. Many of the regulars, Anton, Angus, Lars, CraigR, Sean, JanH, JanB, Neil, Willie, Caron, Graham, Tyrone, Bryce and William were joined by Theus, and, new to Cape Town from East London, Wendy and Andrew and their friend Greg. Later on we were joined by Peter and Kim who had missed the start. A fine, energetic ride covering a wide area. I failed again to locate what looks (on Google Earth) like an old dwellng. Angus later went back and found it.

Anton tells me that he was pelted with stones when riding past Wolwerivier settlement a little while ago. Please be careful in that area.

Honestly I am there most Sundays on the Twin if I am not off riding in Tankwa etc, this last weekend I was in Greyton so missed the ride, but if Im not off riding I go to Parklends.. I tend to do my own thing because sometimes I have to head off early or I dont feel like getting caught up in the tight stuff with the plastics. I always make a swing past The Barrel at 11 and wait till about 20 past, if nobody is there by then I head off .. if you going on a big bike then just post it on the whatsapp thread and Ill make sure I meet you at the meeting spot to ride with you.. no problem

This Sunday looks like it will be quite wet. We might ride on Saturday afternoon instead. But the weather seems very hard to predict a.t.m. so we'll make a call closer to the time. Big bikes are always welcome.

Lars, Angus and I did a short little morning regmaker today. And we opened a new little tracklet, or series of small tracklets which set a new standard for complete silliness. Loved it! Can't wait to inflict them on the rest of the Quarriors.

Sunday's forecast is for a proper Cape storm. If it stays this way we'll ride Saturday afternoon.

Sunday's bad weather has moved forward to Monday, leaving us a perfect, cool day with firm, damp sand. Leaving at 8 from the usual spot.

Sadly I was indisposed today. Angus led the riders on an adventurous outing, including the new LL7, G7 and T7. Welcome back, DavidM with his new, bionic femur.
