I have a Garmin Quest and really enjoy the GPS a lot. I uses it quite a lot too, as it forms part of my daily work.

However this is the third unit I have had since March 2006.
Every time after about a year the unit basically just dies. Everything works fine but the unit does not receive any signal from any satellites.
I've done a firmware update on each, but has not helped on any of them.

Now I have the same problem on the third unit.

Avnic has been awesome on this matter and have replaced the unit at no cost every time, for which I'm very grateful.
I have, however, lost faith in the Quest. Avnic has said that they only replaces them with similar units or the Nuvi 710.
But they will quote me on replacement GPS if I prefer a different unit.

I've done some research and came up with the following units for Biking and everyday usage:

Colorado 300
GPSmap 60CSx
GPSmap 76CSx
Nuvi 710 (if used in the tank bag. Only the battery life is a problem  :-\ 5h)
Quest (just replace it again ?)  :(
GPSmap 276C (depending on the cost)  :drif:

Therefore, my questions are as follows:
1. Have anyone experienced the same problems with the Quests?
2. Any experience and/or advice on these proposed Units?
3. Any others I need to look at? (Zumo ???)  ???

Thank you kindly
