Ride down to Rallye Raid from Pretoria

Planning on riding down to Hole in the Wall, Transkei in Feb this year, for the Rallye Raid. At this moment its just me....

I have not traveled from Zastron along the R393 to the R56, and was wondering if any of the fellow Wild Dogs had done this route. Google Maps doesn't really have any street views as it's a rural road outside the major areas. I see "Jacoboos" https://wilddog.net.za/forum/index.php?topic=141036.0  did a solo route via Zastron - Aliwal North - Lady Grey, however I am a bit stressed for time, hence the short cut along the outlying border between Lesotho and SA. "Can't be so sceptical as there are some cars in the images from Google Maps"
