hey everyone
the discussions around our run in with the farmer (see https://wilddog.net.za/forum/index.php?topic=20418) this weekend really got me thinking. it's not the first time i've come across someone irate at us riding through or on "their" land (which often means bordering on their land, or near their land).
I can't help but feel that, over time, we might find our riding becoming more and more restricted - and i'm sure that certain riders out there aren't helping the cause.
is there not perhaps a way we can be proactive? i mean, if we know a particular area or route is becoming harder to ride, can we not pre-empt it and contact the parties responsible.
for example, the spoornet routes we love to ride. i'm not even 100% sure whether or not we are allowed to be on those roads. and if we're not, could we not contact spoornet, and obtain some sort of permit?
I'm sure there's a lot that can be done, and this could turn into a lengthy thread with a lot to be said, so please, hurl your opinions my way.
more than that though, who would be interested in sitting down around a table and throwing some ideas out? i'm more than willing to make my house, and braai, available
