Sabi GS Challenge 2008

And so i attended my first baby Challenge - the Sabi GS Challenge organised by Thomas and Jacqui from the Windmill & Wine Shop and Cottages and Denver from Auto Alpina Motorcycles.
We arrived from 3pm on Fri afternoon at an awesome and spectacular campsite on the Sabi river banks.
This rider was so excited to arrive at the campsite that he actually lost a bit of concentration.

Later this afternoon the fun started with the skills challenge. Competitors had to cross the river via this footbridge. All well for the lighter bikes ... this red 1200GS though - wow - close call .. very close call!!! Maw ... hy het amper van hartversaking gesterf!

This rider was so excited to arrive at the campsite that he actually lost a bit of concentration.

Kark! hy wou windgat wees!!!! He got ragged and won a bottle of wine for his efforts!!!!All in good spirit

And then ... the talk of the challenge! This beautifull R80GS went down  ... and drowned. The rider ok .. bike? Should be ok after some TLC.

The Strydom family took top honours - Gerber 1st and Walter shared 3rd place.

And so a great weekend came to an end. The food was great, the outride absolutely awesome and the camping facility five star! Sunday morning was time to pack up and return to our destinations. I hope all participants had a save journey back home ..
