We were dropping further and further into the valley and the riding became more technical. I was getting worried because surely we would have to start climbing out of there sometime soon?

And then it started....

As is usually the case, the camera flattens the scene and what looked and felt quite hectic looks tame on a photo. The path was doable, but the drop off on our left just became scarier and scarier.......

Seeing as this was planned as a “light gravel” breakfast run, I didn’t bring camelpack with water and was dehydrating badly with temperatures around the 30 degrees.

We finally climbed out of the valley following the mtb trail that was cut into the contours. Had a few close calls and hope I never find myself in that valley on a big bike again

Foxi tried a shortcut up the mountain......

Stalled and dropped his bike......

And in an attempt to stay upright himself, started running down the mountain and ended up falling about 30 m from his bike.....

Foxi had to take a breather after his downhill sprint

A few hundred meters further we were on the gravel roads again towards White River.
