My wife Debbie and I would like to see how easily we can camp off our bikes. Our plan is to ride through to Highmoor on Saturday, camp at Highmoor reserve Saturday night and return Sunday. The weather promises to be gloriously post frontal for both days. Plan is:
Saturday 9th. Meet at BP Garage Northdene, Old main Rd, S29.86324 E30.88516 at 9am to leave at 9.15am. Ride will be tar & dirt 105km marked blue on the attached gps file. Route is Clover dairy, Intake, Umlaas, Umbogintwini valley, Eston, forestry, Richmond(fill with petrol for Sunday) HellaHella, Highover. We can go up Ufudu if it is clear and everyone is willing.
We should get there about midday, there are tracks around the reserve and we want to see the blues swallows from the top of the Krantz, probably on Sunday before breakfast if they haven't already left.
On Sunday we can return the same way or via the Umkommaas valley, 148km, marked red on the gps trail.
Morning to you,
With regards camping , no problem at all, with regards blue swallows, they'll be leaving anytime now, could be tomorrow, or in the next few days!
