After the 80mm of rain we had the past 2 day, I thought that I'd better try out the KLR on some mud.

On the gravel road to Coliney I was so disappointed, this was basically the worst  ::)

Had a coke at Christie's, and off I go again.
This time I decided to try the railway access road, which can be interesting even in the dry season. But I have travel a few times on it so I felt confident.  :-[
I mean if the road look like that, it can't be much worse, right?

Some photo ops. and then some mud, which I thought might be some of the worst. ::)

And here I had my first reality check

Then this one had me a bit worried, as there were some fresh vehicle tracks and the gate just before this was pulled shut ???
I considered for a few seconds then thought, "I am here, might as well"
And proceeded slowly.

And slowly my front wheel disappeared. Water flowing over the front mudguard!

Then some scenic shots and back to the old train bridge.

So, after a disappointing start, I have found the Mud monster, and it is definitely alive and well!
And I haven't had so much fun in a long time.

Great Stuff! Using the bike in the conditions it was designed for.  ;D

How's that Danloop in the dirt corners?

I'll rather recomend someting else. I have had a few close call because the front end wanted to go somewhere else.
I want to replace it with a bit of a knobbly, better grip I hope.

BTW. After this weekend, my oppinion of what a mud monster is, has changed dramaticaly. ;D

If anyone is in this area I'll take them on this 20 km ride, everyone welcome.
Open invitation ;D

Sal graag wil saamry.
