Here is my thinking… my grandson is 9. He just lives riding with me. I am thinking of getting a bike that he can ride himself…
All the “normal” size bikes seat height is still too high for him, but probably in a year or two would be OK. Now I am thinking that maybe I can buy a normal size scrambler type bike and fit smaller wheels… or even get smaller rims and spoke them to the standard bike hubs. This will probably lower the seat height by 100mm or so. This should be ok for him. In a year or so, All I have to do is use the original rims and have a standard size bike again. Has this ever been done?
