Smartphone - Samsung Galaxy S5 vs iPhone 6 .. ?

Well my iPhone 3GS is finally reaching the point where there's a few niggles and the fact that there are so many new apps that need a higher iOS........... I'm looking at upgrading.

Last Business contract I had in SA was in 2007 .. since then on Pre-Pay .......... most I've used in a month was R275.00 - even here in the UK - 10.00 Pounds a month .... so contracts not an option for me!

I want to buy outright.

Cost of the phones here in the UK - would allow me to get a 20% VAT refund (well it's actually around 16% after fees)

UK Cost: (after VAT deduction)
- iPhone 6 (16Gb) = £450.00 - translates to around R8,000.00
- Samsung Galaxy S5 (16Gb) - £490.00 - translates to R 8,800.00

Dubai Cost: (after VAT deduction)
- iPhone 6 (16Gb) = 3990.00 AED - translates to around R9,100.00
- Samsung Galaxy S5 (16Gb) - 1750.00 AED - translates to R 5,340.00

The one thing that used to really piss me off is the fact that you cannot easily copy music and pics to the iPhone - has to be done via iTunes...........  so the fact that the Galax has a SD-Card slot and can take a substantial memory capacity - sort of makes me lean towards it.

any advice - pro's or con's either way....?
