I was recommended to post this query from the Adventure Riders board. I'm planning a trip to southern Africa for last quarter of 2009 and looking for some recommendations for tour operators. I'm looking for about a 10-day motorcycling trip through South Africa/Namibia/Botswana.
My dirt riding experience is very limited, so I'd like to stick to tarmac or decent gravel roads.
These are the companies I've found so far:
There are undoubtedly more but these are just the ones I could find in a very brief Google search. I'm not big into camping. Sleeping at ground level is best left to the younger set.
I've sent some email queries but haven't got a response yet (not surprising, since it's New Year holiday).
Any recommendations? Who to see, who to avoid? And instead of trusting an airline with all my gear (helmet, leathers, etc.) is it possible to rent that sort of gear once I'm there?
Any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks!
