met with fellow wilddog Robin at 8.30 and went on nice loop of the south, about 3 hours of messing around and just being out there withe our bikes. Robin had just sorted his KTM 640 and this was also a shakedown ride for him.
i was testing out my 21 inch front wheel with new anakee wild fitted, tyres proved to be good and the front didnt clog up with mud like the heidenau scouts i had before, the anakees are still rated 50/50 even though they do look more agresive than most similiar rated tyres, still early days so will see how they do as they wear . i fitted a one size smaller rear tyre to my gs this time around 140/80 17. apparently this raises the bike at the back so the difference between front and back is only 10mm. well thats the theory but i couldnt fact check it as the formula looks really difficult and i wasnt at school that day.
i also tried riding with traction control on, did this as i watched a coupe of youtube vids where it got some guys out of a pickle, didnt work on my bike, in fact caused me a lot of drama getting stuck in a gully and tired myself out getting sorted.
photo is of two adventure legends. Robins bike showing off the monster 30 litre plus tank.

I calculated, it lifts the bike 7mm, when fresh. but the 140 might work better with the 21" (y)

I never changed the profile of the rear wheel. I believed that the increased rake was responsible for the marked improvement in the stability.
