Today my XR500RE started to malfunction a bit, died and left me fiddling next to the road with the sparkplug cable. I didn't notice anything else wrong so I believe this may be electrical. I got her to start again, effortlessly, but as soon as I coast or disengage the clutch, she dies. At one stage, while riding, I noticed a weak spark and poor engine performance and experienced some cut-outs. So, I slothed over to the one side of the bike and with my one hand under the tank tried to wiggle the sparkplug's cable to see if it has an effect and with the other hand steering past the damn Mpumalanga potholes... wel it worked a bit. 
What can it be... bad contact or wiring... CDI :-\?
