In the days when men with blue beards rode 1150’s around the world, when Nokia had moved from pulp to phones, when it was cool to be seen with a hand held radio, when Garmin made GPS systems that looked similar to Telefunken tube tv’s and when the word Bluetooth hadn’t even been thought of, Starcom1 came up with a solution to all our motorcycling comms system.
Their flagship model was this, the “Starcom1 Advanced.
It allowed reliable wired audio to you and your pillion.
In addition ones GPS, phone and iPod (nogal) can be connected for seamless VOX between al devices.
By today’s standards this is ancient tech but 15-20years ago you were the “ou” if you were spotted with the coiled cable hanging from a quick disconnect out of the Schuberth.
So I brought my set over from the UK when I came back home and in the box is where it stayed.
With whats available in terms of comms for motorcycling maybe old hack but in rally car driving or even in your microlight flying this is still relevant.
Or maybe you have some undisclosed use for it. No one will judge and I won’t tell….
With my pending immigration it’s now surplus to requirements and hence it needs a new home or cupboard to live in…..
