I notice on the website Stromtrooper that reports are coming in on expensive stater failures on some DL650 s and other Suzuki models The belief is that this may be caused by heat generated by the the standard rectifier/regulator design that shunts excess electrical power back to the stater causing a heat build up The accepted fix is the fitting of a Model SH775 SERIES regulator/rectifier (R/R) in place of the standard SHUNT type
This R/R is standard fitting on certain bikes and Polaris Quads The problem is that the connectors for the SH775 differs from the standard item fitted therefore this is sold as a loose kit or the complete R/R with connections is sold in the US of A by independent suppliers such as ROADSTERCYCLE.COM
Any DL650 owners aware of this problem that may spoil our future ownership and if this kit is available somewhere in RSA and the cost
