After returning home from my trip I gave the trusty KLR a wash.
After drying the bike and waxing the chain, there is a funny noise Ididn't notice previously.
a 'clack' noise which seems to be in time with a chain revolution. I've already checked the chain for obstructions, but there is nothing I can see. I spun the back and front and back wheels while off the ground and no noise there either. If the bike free wheels there is also no noise. The noise is only audible under acceleration. Also, obviously I cannot hear whether it happens at high speed too (wind noise), but as it speeds up in time with acceleration, so I assume it does... I have bounced on the bike and shaken it vigorously - no noise...
I've got 26687km on the clock. Chain is regularly cleaned and waxed. Doohickey was tightened at 25k, it had began to make a noise before I ddi it - this noise is not the same at all.
What gives?????
