My KLR has just had its first 1000km service done. I've been given two different stories on which oil to use. The dealer says mineral, but one of the KLR boffins says to use synthetic oil. The bike is currently running on synthetic oil, put in when I had the doo done, and is running like an absolute dream. She pulls like a demon ( by 650 single pot standards ) and gets to 140km/hr very quickly. runs very smoothly.
My concern is that the motor will not bed in properly using synthetic oil, this is what I've been told, yet the bike is running beautifully at the moment. KM's are now at +/- 1500, should I run on mineral oil till about 5000km and then change to synthetic or just leave her on synthetic as it is at the moment?
