I want to start-off by thanking Watty & Pie for organizing an awesome bash !

We've been doing adventure riding for some years, but always used a support bakkie for all the gear.
So this bash was going to the first time we carried everything true Wilddog adventure style. . .
And the first time to meet all the dogz I've only met on the forum.

The week before:
MikeH had to do some engineering magic:
1) Some measuring
2) Some Welding
3) ..And tada !!  Fish bowl mounted !

Thanks MikeH

3) MikeH on the mountain

Friday of the EC Bash- Part 2

At Antoniesberg pass MellowYellow and TheBigGreen met up with us?
But there were no signs of other dawgs still braai-ing down at the river.
Allthough there were evidence of warm coals and an empty Klippies Premium bottle. . .

1) Friendly sign of farmer
2) Meeting up with MellowYellow and TheBigGreen on Antoniesberg pass
3) No photo unfortunately of MellowYellow putting his GS down on the ground!
4) Tree
5) Karoo gravel highway
6) Kuiering around the fire Friday Eve.

Saturday

We woke up to a very quiet camp after the previous nights liquide sandwitches.
After a nice hot shower, MellowYellow took us (Herms, MikeH, Thump, Jman and myself)
  on his planned outride North.

And did we have a great +-270km ride! We constantly outran the rain.
We passed many dry driffies the morning, only to return later the day with them in flood!

1) Early morning bash camp
2) Karoo
3) JMan at an arch
4) Outrunning the rain
5) Train

Saturday-Part2

Soon after Klipplaat Thump had to do his spiderman trick to fix his broken subframe.
He decided that it will be better to head back to camp.  The rest of the outride went
without any issues.   Thanks MellowYellow for an awesome trip!

We returned to a very wet Bash Campsite!

1) Church at Kliplaat
2) Spiderman Thump.  :)
3) You just have to luv the Karoo.

Sunday

Sunday was planned to attempt the Steytlerville Eco trail.
So that is what Herms, Jman, MikeH, Carlos and myself attempted.

It was a nerve wrecking experience. At least for me!
On a very steep hill, with lots of very loose rocks, I dropped my XT.
While attempting to pic the bike up, I could only use the front brake.
Since you are now standing next to the bike.

With no traction on the front wheel, I just started slipping backwards
with the bike almost over the edge of a very high drop-off!!    :-[

Not too far up, after everyone had their turn in putting their bikes down,
we decided to do the correct thing and turn around.
For me downhill is worst than uphill and I dropped my bike again.
This time my clutch lever was the casualty.

Below some photo's:

1) Bottom of Hill
2) JMan enjoying the view over the Karoo
3) MikeH, contemplating another loose rocky hill climb.
