In Lutzville I organised with our old friend Kleinbietjiewyn, to have breakfast together in Vredendal, as the previous day's visit was rather short due to his full diary.
Some more time to catch-up on the past 5yrs...
At the Wimpy in Vredendal I discovered to my great disappointment that I've lost the left side Honda badge on my Twin!!

Please tell how much Honda charge for that beautiful badge.
I have just armired mine the other day and thought; hope it stays there!!

Are you sitting down Tom?

R1080!!!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek:
Well I bought it... and it's back on after cleaning the bike thoroughly!!
Fortunately my Dealèr gave me some generous discount - old stock that somebody ordered and then ran away for the price!!

After the Vredendal breakfast and reunion, we were off to Citrusdal for the last night...
We took the gravel to Lambertsbay past the Nortier Reseach Farm:

We went left and later right to Leipoldtville, left again at Leipoldtville to go onto gravel. Later we turned left on more gravel, which later became a very interesting narrow winding tar road through the orchards, to bring us to the top of Piekenierskloof pass.
Left from the top of the pass and down to Citrusdal through a zillion bents and some heavy traffic on the N7.
First stop Tops for an iced cold bitter one...
We then booked in at Citrus Creek campsite, it was scorching hot, and we couldn't get into the large pool quickly enough!!

Unbelievable!!
Wow....but the bike would feel and look weird without it.
Glad you got sorted.

Man I had a good ride today on my Africa twin again and what a bike!!

My son used to own a GS850 from new and during and after our Sani-Lesotho trip he kept on reminding me how much better the Twin rides, handles and feels.

Only thing we both agree on is it would have been nice eith tubeless wheels like the bigger brother.

After the swim we "siesta" a bit underneath the trees. Later we walked to the Spar for supplies - about 500m...
The friendly manager told us it was actually a cool day!!!🥵
Back at camp swim again and then starting the fire. A friendly horse visited us:

Then the horse's even more friendly owner "Appel" visited us. He's the co-owner/manager and caretaker, and a hellavu interesting fellow to share a drink with, listen to good stories and jokes and have a great laugh!!
He's also a biker (1200GSA and 3x Vukas)!
He also entertained us 😧😲 with some local grenadella Witblitz - apparently it can completely reset you brain!!! ...I belief him!!! We were very carefull!!!

And then much later...

Thursday morning...:(
Final morning. Shower ( super clean ablutions!!), coffee and breakfast - last night's leftovers again, pack, say bye to Appel, refuel and we're off...
We rode together to "Op die Berg" via the beautiful but rough Middelbergpas...
And then one final toast at the drive-thru at the Spar...

15km further we split - Nommers going straight to Stellenbosch via Ceres, and me and Dave on our way back to George and Mosselbay respectively going left on gravel.

The closer we got to the Ceres - Calvinia main road, the more flood damage we encountered.
Once on the tar I decided to take the "Bo-Swaarmoed" gravel loop towards the Touwsriver tar. That was quite interesting and eventually led to a U-turn, as neither of us were prepared to try and jump a loaded AT across a 3m wide and 4m deep donga!!!

The final stint to complete my 547km for the day - crazy N1 towards CT, turn left to Montagu through the Koo valley for a final re-fuel in Montagu and 2 filthy bikers enjoying a civilized meal...

Garcia Pass before Riversdale:

From Riversdale we had a last thorough blast via the old Postal route to Albertinia - giving the Twins horns!!

a Final refresher at Albertinia Hotel - Rock Shandy and Jagermeister - to give us power for the final fight home through the N2 holiday traffic ...

Ook bekend as Hansie Assuransie
