My TA went in for a MAJOR service today _76000km! I arranged last week and was told that I should get it there very early - tappets must be cold.
I was there (Tygerberg Honda) by 7am. Spent the day walking around Tygervally etc.
By 5:30 the tank was still off and the chappie had his hand inside - adjusting the tappets. By 5:50 they arranged that I would take the 700 Transalp home and they would phone me to bring it back.
So - what is the bike like - first impressions - road bike!
Plenty more go from the throttle - mine seems sluggish.
Needs to beset up properly for me - gear lever etc.
Feels like a road bike, sounds quite nice.
Apparently the first service costs R2500 - even though it is an inspection only they must take off the plastics to be able to see.
Uses shims - best buy a used one.
Will test the lights tonite, have not even tried the standing position.
