I have been very skeptical of barrel tuners. Fitted an EC barrel tuner and silencer from Gun Warrior today. Shot some ammo that my gun doesn't really like, tuned it a bit and suddenly gave me great groups at 50m

Ek wouldn't pay that much for Norinco. Can get a Brno Mod 1 or 2 for that price

What happens is I buy a cheap POS with the intention of just playing around, and then things get serious, and I need to buy the proper thing, instead of "buy once cry once"....

CZ 457, preferably the MTR Model
Best value for money interms of accuracy.
Comes with match chamber and barrel
Parts and extras readily available
Can build a serious competition rig with it

If it was only for playing on the farm and varminting I would get an old Brno

Can't wait to get to the range with this guy. It is a Remington model 34 22 I inherited, belonged to my great grandfather. The model 34 was only produced from 1932 - 1935. Production was supposedly stopped as it has a complex straight feed system that became too expensive to manufacture. This feed mechanism is supposed to result in superior accuracy as the rounds are always fed in exactly the same way, the bolt makes first contact with the casing once it is already in the chamber preventing any case damage. This was the first 22 I ever shot, has a 15 round tubular mag and a captive bolt, makes for nice fast shooting when culling dassies or other pests. It has a great iron sight, I'm probably going to keep it this way and not fit a scope.

1) Are there any comps for 22 open sight? Would love to do the occasional shoot.
2) It has some surface rust, I've had collectors tell me that these are collectible and as such I should rather treat it to stop the rust but shouldn't re-blue it as this destroys the value? I don't intend ever selling it though so I'm considering having it re-blued. Any advice on this front?

I see you guys mention the Model CZ457 as a good option to start with. I can get a very good deal on the CZ455 Model with a bull barrel from a friend of mine that is busy relocating to New Zeeland. Anything I should worry about the CZ455.

If it's a good deal you should take it
