......this is what I could currently find, feel free spread the word to whoever would want to join.
Good day fellow Airheads.
I have come to the conclusion and spoke to some fellow enthusiasts that there seem to be quite a couple of these classic gems hidden all around our country and beyond. So, I think it's time to form a some sort of loosely based owners club around these great machines.
All R80 & R100 G/S and GS monolever and paralever from 1980 to 1997 would be welcome as it seems that whoever ownes them rarely lets go. (or at least kick themselves and wake up at night wondering why, if they did.).
Some of the Western Cape guys knows each other and even done some trips together, but I see guys like madmike999, Fixit etc , as well as those beyond our borders (fela and newguy springs to mind.)
It would be great to see everyones classics , and who knows with enough will and enthusiasm it might even be possible to get together once a year for a weekend ride.
So, to get the ball rolling.....here is my G/s as it came from the bavarian factory womb. Except for the aftermarket headlight fairng, handguards and luggage rack all else was as stock standard and with less kilometers on the clock as I would care to reveal as it would make grown men weep and probably soil themselves.
Before: Here was my first and last chance to keep this great bike and truly rare find restored and as original as mentioned above - (it even still had it's original factory fitted tyres on)........................or not. :mwink:
...........needless to say,...............I choose the latter.
After: My pride and joy as sculpted and kitted with trickbits by The G/S Workshop.
Hope to see many more.
