Our plan for the day was to make our way towards Orrie Baragwanath Pass and into Lekgalameetsi, possibly also doing the Orrie Side entry loop. We had considerable distance on tar to complete before we got to the good bits and we planned on leaving Tonteldoos early. As we started kitting up, a light drizzle started to fall......

One of the 4 Kaaskoppe on our trip. Jan-Lucas, Marc, Henk and Bart are all of Dutch descent, with Marc the only one not born in the Netherlands

I accompanied Marc to the filling station at Draaikraal to fill up. As we left the filling station, I initially thought my MotoZ was not liking the wet tar and thus squirming under me a bit.......

I soon found myself remving a flat rear in the rain.... :xxbah:

Marc assisted with changing the tube and then we were on our way again. A quick breakfast in Lydenburg and 2 hours later we were on some dirt at last

I had endless issues with my GoPro freezing up on this trip. At the start of Orrie, that's exactly what happened and after a few choice swear words, I decided to ride without filming the ascent. I stopped now and then to take photos of the other riders and then rode up ahead to start the process again. It also started raining again and the rocky climb up the pass was challenging and slippery in spots.

Orrie is in the worst condition I've ever seen it after the big floods earlier this year, Noraly might not have rated Sani as the most difficult pass in SA if  she did not have to turn around at Orrie..... :peepwall:  And no.... Orrie is not even close to the most difficult pass in SA  :3some:

Orrie is not even the most difficult in that area, let alone SA, as you know.

Actually it is the easiest, maybe on par with the no-name one. I've done Penge two weeks ago and my inner evil self was hoping that you guys will go for it - you would have plenty of choice words to share  >:D. It is pretty bad and I battled even on 690 with new wide ratio gearbox.
