After waiting almost 18 months to get my bike back I could not wait to take it for a slow cruise. Its got a new enjin and needs to go gently, the way I like it. Yesterday was one of those absolutely magnificent EC winter days... Today was shitty weather, but who cares. We ride.

I get on the freeway and keep it at 3000 revs, 80km/h, the way it likes to be ridden. First stop at the bottom of Van Stadens pass, one of my favourite spots.

Its a cold, blistery day and rain threatens all the time, but I ride around the edge of it. Nevertheless I put on my rain suit and snug up nicely. I had arranged with Tiffy to meet just after nine. The Kitchen Windows is closed so I head for the Spur, where we arrive at the same time. Nice brekkie coffee and chat.

Hotwire collected a bag for me in CT, when he fetched his new 1200GS, and we were going to arrange that I pick it up from him some time today. I see a missed call and ring him. His also on a cruise (missed my Plan a Ride thread) and at the bottom of Van Stadens pass. We'll meet at the bridge.

That new bike of his is a beaut.
