So here's my Trax top-box mounting setup. I bought the rig second hand and didn't realise that this was the deal.

The Transalp-specific alu bracket bolts onto the plastic sub-sub-frame ( ;D), and the plastic bracket attaches to that using the three stainless steel screw/bolt thingies you can see. The box then mounts to that in the normal way.

I have two issues with this:

  • The box sits way too far back on the bike.
  • The plastic bracket is...plastic, and attached at three points using fairly small bolts. Can the plastic handle off-road use?

I know there's a plastic-piece-less Trax plate out there for the Transalp, but how much?
If it's expensive then I might just pooratech a way of excluding the plastic bit.

P.S. Ignore the cable tie; that's what happens when you hang around Ghosty's GSA for the day  >:D
