Race Dog
I do not know whether this is the right place to post this, but after todays flying, I need to post this somewhere.
this old dude did many weir and wonderful things, I recon you could in those days if you had the money. he flew in the war, came back married my mother 14 years his junior and work for his father, starting Blake's bricks in Stellenbosch. That would eventually become Corobrick.
Long story short, in about 1958, they decided they need to get away from being the mayor's family so they built themselves a boat, to spend like a week at sea, at a time.
So they built the St Valentine on Papegaai berg in Stellenbosch. Our home farm as my grandfather was living on Oude Libertas.
During 1990 my dad's health was deteriorating rapidly and he wanted to see their boat 1 last time. My sister found it being refurbished in Houtbay.
The first picture was taken in Hermanus.
The last one is of the old man before his last by past op at about 70 some odd years.
