But we were rewarded with magnificent views on the other side.....

At this point Mark mentioned that Orrie is just over the next rise ......[emoji48][emoji48]

Think Xpat calls this the Orrie Side Entry? It “ EVENTUALLY”  meets up with Orrie at the point where dirt becomes tar.....  but we had some way to go before we would get there......

I called it OB side entry as the matter of speaking as that is what it kind of is. I doubt it has any official name.

If you want to make a mark in the history, this area gives you some opportunities to name routes / passes. For example 'Penge pass' was I believe named by Jacques 'Livingstone' Sidetrack.  O0

Oh my goodness, President of the T7 Fan Club AND a famous explorer! Well done [member=41]sidetrack[/member] ! :thumleft: :thumleft:

Here is another unnamed pass which I just named "Sidetrack Pass" in LP worth checking out, not nearly as technical or long but nice views.

Come on Jacques - don't get greedy. That one is fully tractable on googlemaps, I have ridden it a year ago when I was just following Minxy's tracks (  [member=15496]Minxy[/member] ). So if anything it should be called Minxy pass. BTW it is an easy dirt road, but very scenic so if you ar gunning it back to GP from Lekgalameetse, highly recommended.

And BTW, that whole mountain range I just called on FB ' Little Kaokoland' (yes way too unironic, but fitting IMO). I have been exploring there on Sunday before I got chased away by rain, and it is goldmine to be discovered. I will post pictures this week in my thread (I already posted on earlier in this one as a teaser).

All 3 off us really enjoyed this pass. The scenery was out of this world, the riding was sublime, with a good mix of flowing tracks and a few technical bits to keep you awake.

Can you spot Mark riding up the side of that mountain?

That is the spot where I turned back last time after I found my swingarm has big crack. So I haven't seen the rest of the track to the tar and I hope it is pretty rough, because if not then I should have just pushed on last time and finish it... ;)

I rode it in 2006 on my DRZ it was pretty cool but I'm sure someone rode it on his Harley in 1950  :pot:  Looking forward to the goldmine !

Nice thing about LP is there are hundreds of km's of tracks all over the place, and it's not far from GP. Very rural.

The rest of the ride was done at pace to make it to the gate before it closed. Scenery was still spectacular
