Pack Dog
Hey guys (and girls)
I'm new here. Some advice needed. Relatively new to the whole biking scene, and looking to get a good bike. I've ridden a little, mostly tame small town commuting on a 125 road bike (back in the day) and some, slightly less tame dirt biking, but on a quad. :/
Basically, I'm looking for an adventure bike. Something that can handle the dirt, the technical stuff should I decide to have some fun with it, but also able to handle my daily commute of 40km + everyday, on tar. (so must be roadworthy)
The thing is, I'm contemplating a long distance trip (to Tanzania specifically, and hopefully many more places) and ideally, any bike I buy should be able to handle the distance, without vibrating me to death :-\
My problem: I'm on a budget. Any advice on what bikes I can get on a budget of approx. R15 000-00.
I've been told the TT or XT 600 are good bikes. Slightly concerned about the weight on those bikes.
Didn't want to run off and buy the first bike I saw, only to regret it later.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks
