What luggage to put on my BMW 1150GS

Ok I need to carry more that I can put in the topbox and  I already know I want hard luggage for the weather in Cape Town...

The normal BMW plastic panniers looks like they can do the thing and looks like I can buy them for a "ok" price compared to the Aluminium Panniers - but there is always a good reason why they are more expensive, right?

any idea's , any rack option that is better than the others?

Advice and pointers greatly appreciated.
