OK. This is what I have experienced.

Changed from Metzeler Tourance to Kenda K270 fro Desert Run.

Even though I knew one must be carefull with the knobblies on, I was surprised/shocked the first time I had to do hard braking on tar with the knobbly. Let go MUCH easier than the Tourance. After that I took it a bit more easier and tested the braking until I found my comfort zone. Solution was to take it easier through corners and to apply braking more gradually and using the front brakes more agressively.

I know. I know. Basics and commen sense. But still I was not prepared for the difference in handling. Remember to take it easy once changing tyres to something you have not had on before.

Test the braking and grip and make sure you know what can be done and what not.

If I had an emergency when I just fitted the knobbly, I would most probably have lost the bike (with possible life threatening results) under braking using the same technique with the Tourances.

Anyway. My experience.
